(SAGAR)
Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956) was a great social reformer, a valiant champion of Human freedom, Human Rights and an emancipator of the downtrodden masses and women of India. Depicting his career as the struggle of the intellect and will, his deep erudition scholarship and experience in field as law, economic, sociology, labor and politics enabled him to make impressive contribution to the making of Modern India
Dr. Ambedkar was a great social reformer, a valiant champion of Human freedom, Human Rights and an emancipator of the downtrodden masses and women of India. Depicting his career as the struggle of the intellect and will, his deep erudition scholarship and experience in field as law, economic, sociology, labor and politics enabled him to make impressive contribution to the making of Modern India. He dedicated all his life, to awaken the social conscience of modem India. He devoted his life to the destruction of caste ridden social system characterized by injustice and denial of human rights. By the sheer grit of his determination, hard work, supreme courage and selfless sacrifice, he overcame bitter political opposition social orthodoxy and superstition. He became the Architect of the Constitution of the Independent India. He provided equal rights to women and safeguards of affirmative action for establishing a equitable society that is capable of delivering justice social, economic and political to citizen of India (people). He started a new age of social equality in India.
He laid great emphasis on education. He saw education as a potent force which
equally could empower every citizen to build an egalitarian society to help break the age old unjust system of graded inequality (caste system) Dr. Ambedkar made outstanding contribution as an economist, sociologist, anthropologist, educationist and a jurist. He has emerged as a Symbol of Knowledge.
His motto of, ‘Educate, Organize, and Agitate’ will guide us to achieve his vision
of a society based on Equality, Liberty, and Fraternity. We are duty bound to work to achieve his vision.
About us
AIMS AND OBJECTS OF SAGAR
- 1. To propagate philosophy and teachings of Tathagat Gautam Buddha.
- 2. To propagate philosophy and work for ideals of krantijyoti Savitribai Phule and Jyotirao Phule.
- 3. To propagate social, economic, educational and cultural philosophy, and thoughts and writings of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
- 4. To work for empowerment, upliftment and development of the deprived sections of society.
- 5. All such activities, which are performed for improving the situation of the deprived sections of society, pursuing the philosophy thought, writings and reforms of Dr. B.R Ambedkar can be called "Ambedkarite Reform".
- 6. To work for promotion of education, science, arts, literature, culture and sports
- 7. To work to create educational opportunities for deprived sections of society.
- 8. To work for Annihilation of Caste.
- 9. To work for eradication of manual scavenging.
- 10. To work for protection and promotion of Women's Rights, dignity of women and promote gender justice.
- 11. To work for protection of the environment
- 12. To undertake such other activities/actions from time to time as shall be deemed necessary for attainment of the aims and objects of SAGAR.
- 13. To do all such lawful things as conducive or incidental to the attainment of the aims and objects of SAGAR.
- 14. To create awareness about the harmful effects of consumption of alcohol, tobacco and other psychotropic substances. To work for the de-addiction of addicts of these substances.
- 15. To work for promotion of charity and philanthropic activities.
- 16. To catalyze, support and strengthen social action groups and activities working for Ambedkarite Reform.
- 17. To promote networking among the social action group or activists working for Ambedkarite Reform and to provide a common platform for them.
- 18. To study, analyze and disseminate policies, programs and legislation affecting Ambedkarite Reform.
- 19. To create a mechanism for advocacy, legal aid and information service on common causes and issues affecting Ambedkarite Reform.
- 20. To investigate, study, document, print, publish, store and disseminate information on issues related to Ambedkarite Reform.
- 21. To work towards developing and fostering mutual cooperation understanding and common action among various individuals, groups and organizations engaged in Ambedkarite Reforms.
- 22. To issue appeal for money and funds in furtherance of aims and objects of SAGAR, to accept gifts, donations, subscription and to deal with funds and money of SAGAR.
- 23. To offer prizes, grant scholarship, loans, and other financial assistance to deserving students.
- 24. To work for promotion of healthcare activities.
